Our client is looking for an Department Head. to join the team.
DUTIES;
- To organizing and coordinating daily duties in terms of maintenance.
- Guiding Assistant Maintenance manager and supervisors to see to their daily duties
- To identify maintenance needs and assisting with maintenance
- To controlling, supervising and planning house preparation and cleaning
- Crisis Management Ensure that all portable electrical equipment is safe as per daily duty (e.g. Grinder, Drilling Machine, Electrical Extensions.)
- To nsure weekly and daily checklist is completed (e.g. Fire alarms, Standby Generators, Motor and Gearbox, Fan Checklist Rearing and Free Range)
- Ensure that all monthly checklist is complete (e.g Testing of earthlike, testing of overloads in all operational sections.)
- Ensure that preventive Maintenance is complete on a monthly basis.
- Take stock of all equipment and consumables and keep records.
- See that all equipment, machinery and systems are in good working condition.
- Ensure that all the employees are doing their work as per the Company policies and Procedures.
- See that the houses get thoroughly prepared before housing.
- Must relieve the Electrical on weekends and leave periods.
- Keep maintenance list of all motors and generators on the farm up to date.
- All maintenance and repairs within your scope to be done in newly built houses or current houses.
- Building of new chicken houses and installation and commissioning of all new equipment into houses.
REQUIREMENTS;
- Must have mechanical/ Maintenance/Electrical & or Boilermaker qualification
- Agricultural Diploma/Degree specialising in poultry & poultry production, advantageous
- Minimum of 5 previous years’ experience in the poultry industry
- Proven experience in maintaining the following:
- General maintenance
- Electrical
- Welding
- Pumps
- Servicing of vehicles
- Extensive repair and maintenance knowledge of farm equipment, irrigation pumps, irrigation systems, and building maintenance essential
- Computer literate
- Ability to work in a team
- Valid drivers’ license
