Job description
The University of Fort Hare seeks to appoint VIP Protection Officers on a 6 months fixed term contract., equitable and sustainable African University, committed to teaching and research excellence at the service of its students, scholars and the wider community
Responsibilities:
- Provide university executives with close protection.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop security plans for high-profile events, meetings, and travel arrangements involving VIPs.
- Monitor and assess potential threats and security vulnerabilities, utilizing surveillance techniques and security protocols.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, security breaches, and other critical incidents involving VIPs.
- Maintain clear and constant communication with university administration, security personnel, and relevant stakeholders to coordinate security efforts.
Requirements:
- Certification in VIP/Close Protection.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and other relevant emergency medical procedures is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- PSIRA registered, Grade B.
- Firearm license with sound knowledge of policies and procedures and business purpose.
- At least 3 years’ experience in executive protection, law enforcement, the military, or a related field preferred.
